This course aims to help postgraduate students become more effective scientific writers through practical examples and exercises. Topics covered include principles of good writing, strategies for writing faster with less anxiety, the structure of a scientific manuscript, authorship, and plagiarism. By the end of the course, students will be required to submit a short article for peer review, which is an essential component of the final assessment. Course Content: Introduction: The importance of clear and effective scientific communication Mastering a text editor: Building a productive relationship with writing tools; Principles of effective writing; Crafting better sentences and paragraphs; Structuring and streamlining the writing process; The format of an original manuscript: What and how to write in each section; Critical reviews, commentaries, and opinion articles; The publication process; Challenges in scientific writing: Plagiarism, authorship, ghostwriting, and reproducible research; How to conduct a peer review
